With faster build speeds, superior environmental control performance, and exceptional design flexibility, insulated metal panels (IMPs) offer many advantages over other conventional building envelope systems. This course details these and other aspects of IMPs and why they can be considered the key component of “the perfect wall.”
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Discuss the thermal performance advantages of insulated metal panels and how they contribute effectively to greenhouse gas reduction.
- Review the basics of panel installation to ensure a structurally sound and continuous envelope.
- Describe how to achieve the water, air, vapor, and thermal control functions necessary to a building envelope when using insulated metal panels.
- Describe the aesthetics, design flexibility, and integrated accessories available with architectural insulated metal panels.
