(Chicago) -- Creating durable exterior soffits with clean continuous linear lines, Chicago Metallic® Corporation offers Planar®, PlanarPlus®, PlanarMacro® and MacroPlus™ linear metal ceiling systems. These ceiling systems’ strong aluminum panels are available in a variety of styles, thicknesses and finishes to present a unified appearance in both interior and exterior applications. Chicago Metallic provides architects and engineers with a range of performance information to assist them when designing linear metal soffits to resist design wind pressures. Not only are linear metal ceiling systems engineered to resist wind, they also accommodate lighting, air diffusers and audio accessories. Noise Reduction Coefficients up to 0.95 can be achieved with acoustical backing material and perforations. Made of non-combustible material, these systems have a Class A fire rating. Planar and PlanarPlus linear panels are nominally 4 inches wide and available with either round or square edges. PlanarMacro and MacroPlus linear panels are available 4-, 6 - or 8 inch widths. The metal panels may be specified in painted colors, reflective, anodized, and Chicago Metallic’s MetalWood® and WoodScenes® finishes. These systems may be installed as a flat ceiling or curved to form vaults and valleys. The use of environmentally responsible building materials is a critical component of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® certification process. Supporting LEED goals and documentation, Chicago Metallic includes downloadable resources on its website. Assisting with design and installation details, CAD drawings, Google™ SketchUp models and Revit® 3-D models also are on demand at www.chicagometallic.com.
