MONTREAL, Canada – November 16, 2011 – Unicel Architectural, the leading manufacturer of vision and daylight control solutions, today announced that it has received an Architectural Products Product Innovation Award (PIA) with a Special Healthcare Citation for its patented Vision Control® cord-free louvers-within-glass solution. The Architectural Products magazine 2011 PIA competition recognizes outstanding products and product applications within the built environment.
“We are thrilled to be recipients of this prestigious industry award,” said Jean-François Couturier, CEO of Unicel. “Thanks to all the talented members of the Unicel team, we have built a reputation as the premier supplier of vision and daylight control solutions to healthcare and other facilities. We are proud of our team, our record in the industry, and to see our Vision Control® solution installed in some of the most discerning architectural projects in the world.”
Vision Control® is a patented, hermetically sealed glass unit combining louvers within glass that can be customized to virtually any shape for interior or exterior glazing applications. Its advanced louvered glazing technology eliminates strings, ensures alignment and requires no maintenance. Vision Control® significantly reduces energy consumption in support of LEED® requirements in exterior applications, and helps deliver on stringent healthcare requirements for patient privacy.
“The PIA recognizes products, materials and systems innovation that leads commercial and institutional design to new heights,” said Jim Crockett, Editorial Director, Construction Business Media, LLC. “With judging and evaluation of products and systems from a distinguished panel of 44 architects and specification specialists skilled in product evaluation, the PIA program awards manufacturers based on attributes, qualities, functionality and/or performance beyond industry standards.”
