Designer wins iPad in Lightworks Image Competition

January 31, 2011

SHEFFIELD, UK (31 January 2011) - Lightworks, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, today announced that Andrew Parks is the winner of the latest Lightworks Image Competition. Andrew is a designer at Archimania in Memphis, Tennessee, where he utilises 3D visualisations as a design tool. He uses FormZ software for his modelling and rendering throughout all phases of the design process, continuously manipulating and refining the designs to create a unique atmosphere for each project. His winning image of a house in rural Arkansas uses very simple materials and forms but conveys a richness in character. Its simplicity adds a depth of realism to the image which particularly impressed the judging panel. David Forrester, Managing Director at Lightworks, commented; “Once again our users have demonstrated how they are able to create wide-ranging images using Lightworks technology. The detail within Andrew’s interior image is a perfect example of the fantastic results that Lightworks is giving users on a daily basis: photorealistic imagery at its best!” For his winning entry, Andrew receives a 16GB wireless iPad – the latest must-have gadget from Apple. The runners up in the competition were Griff Wason, a trueSpace user based in The Channel Islands, and Marius Louw, a South African user of Caddie Vio software; both of which integrate Lightworks rendering technology. Entries are now being received for the next competition where the prize will be a top of the range camera – the Nikon D3100. Lightworks users are encouraged to send their images in quickly for a chance to win the prize!
