ClosetMaid, an Emerson business, is first closet system to earn recycled steel content designation OCALA, Fla., Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ClosetMaid, a business of Emerson, announced today that its ventilated wire shelving has been independently certified for recycled content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a leading third-party certifier for environmental labels and claims. Products that are SCS Certified for containing recycled content can help meet LEED criteria specified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). ClosetMaid's wire shelving products are the first closet systems to earn the highly recognized SCS Certification for being made from 75 percent recycled content, including 65 percent post-consumer and 10 percent pre-consumer recycled steel.
