SPI Begins Marketing Campaign in U.S. & Canada HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UPDATE (Stage Report): On Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Intertek Laboratories in San Antonio, TX, Flame Seal’s new Intumescent Coating became the first thin film coating to pass the Full Scale Room Corner test (UL1715). Witnesses at the test representing a major foam manufacturer stated: “This changes everything about our industry!” Michael Kiser, President of Flame Seal, also attended the test, and he said: “Nobody thought we would pass this test with such a thin coating. We used less than 18 dry mills on the test walls, and one attendee was saying the best they had done, with 'thicker' coatings, was six minutes out of fifteen, which is the pass/fail point of this test. When we went past 15 minutes without almost zero spread of flames, they were astounded! It made me proud of our Company, our products, and our team.” After the official test report was provided by Intertek Labs a few days later, Specialty Products, Inc. (SPI), Flame Seal’s exclusive distributor/marketer for the U.S. and Canada, immediately went into high gear with a National marketing campaign that was organized and ready for take-off, promoting the new product to the Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation Market, including manufacturers, distributors and contractors throughout the industry. Since a strong demand already existed for an affordable, easily applied fire protective coating for Spray Applied Polyurethane Foam Insulation, it is expected that the response to SPI’s marketing effort will be rapid and significant. Progress reports will be released as notable events occur.
