PVsyst New Version to Support SolarEdge System Sizing, Simulation and Added Energy Calculation

June 07, 2010

HOD HASHARON, Israel & GENEVA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PVsyst developed a new version of its popular photovoltaic system design software. The upcoming release allows the design of systems using SolarEdge PowerBoxes and inverters, enabling simple planning of systems with all the SolarEdge benefits and providing an added energy calculation of SolarEdge enabled installations. The SolarEdge power harvesting solution includes PowerBoxes, which are module-integrated power optimizers, solar inverters and a monitoring portal. This unique end-to-end solution enables production of up to 25% more energy from PV installations, while reducing costs and complexities and increasing system safety. The SolarEdge technology allows the installation of PV systems in locations that previously were unfavorable, due for example to multiple inclinations and partial shading. PVsyst is a software package for the sizing, simulation and data analysis of complete PV systems. It can be used to easily design and compare various systems, using several project levels. The software is designed by the Institute of Environmental Sciences (ISE) at the University of Geneva. With the upcoming version a wider variety of installations can be designed and analyzed, and the added energy of SolarEdge installations is calculated by PVsyst for easy system evaluation.
