In a Troubled Property Market, Green Building Technology is Giving Some Architects and Developers the Edge Over Competitors

September 13, 2007

CAMBRIDGE, England, September 12/PRNewswire/ -- Widespread concerns over the impact on the environment of building-related carbon emissions have been instrumental in raising the profile of 'green' building initiatives. As a consequence the adoption of low-emission building technology has allowed some architects and developers to punch above their weight in an increasingly competitive property market, and seen their work receive international attention. This is a key conclusion of a report published by Cambridge UK based analysts CarbonFree. According to the report, green building techniques will be an important tool for developers and architects if governments intervene to support the construction sector. CarbonFree have identified key areas where governments are attempting to reduce building-related energy use and believe that future support, via public building programmes, will be conditional on the construction industry including low- or zero-emission technology in building designs and development projects.
