Panolam Industries' High Pressure Laminates Receive Third-Party Certification From the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

April 13, 2010

SHELTON, Conn., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Panolam Industries' Nevamar® and Pionite® High Pressure Laminates (HPL) have received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification through the SmartWood program of the Rainforest Alliance, the world's premier certifier of non-timber forest products. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. The FSC certification validates Panolam Industries' commitment to producing environmentally friendly products. What's more, the Rainforest Alliance's global presence is consistent with Panolam Industries' expansion strategy. The company launched its "Nevamar® by Panolam" line in Europe in February and the Pionite® Motion line of HPL products in March. All Nevamar® and Pionite® High Pressure Laminate products also meet the low-emission standards certified by GREENGUARD. Because Panolam Industries formulates its own resins, the company can be sure its manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly. Its uses recycled or renewable resources to help preserve forests and promote a healthier environment.
