KraftMaid Cabinetry Inspires Designers with Nearly 800 3-D Cabinet Models in Google SketchUp(TM)

April 05, 2010

Five Door Styles and 15 Finishes Now Offered in the Google 3D Warehouse MIDDLEFIELD, OHIO – April 5, 2010 – Based on the success of its 3-D cabinet model collections in the Google 3D Warehouse, KraftMaid Cabinetry has now expanded its offering to nearly 800 digital 3-D cabinet models. With the recent additions, designers and other Google SketchUp users can select from five different door styles and 15 different finishes to suit almost any design style kitchen. KraftMaid door styles featured in the 3-D models include a range of styles to represent a range of kitchens: contemporary (KraftMaid Saratoga and Avery door styles), transitional (KraftMaid Putnam and Sedona door styles) and traditional (KraftMaid Marquette door style). “As KraftMaid 3-D cabinet and room models continue to grow in demand, so does the range of our offerings,” said Mark Johnson, FAIA, director of sales & marketing education at KraftMaid. “Our goal is to ensure that the design community’s technology needs are fully supported through our many 3-D model collections.” Each 3-D cabinet is modeled to showcase a KraftMaid finish combined with a popular wood species. When the Dynamic Component dialog box is opened, designers can select any width that KraftMaid makes in a particular cabinet and the model automatically changes to the requested dimension. When models are downloaded in SketchUp Version 7, the cabinet doors and drawers open, so users can virtually experience each model once placed in a kitchen design. Additionally, KraftMaid’s team of kitchen designers, together with experts from Igloo Studios has added many new inspirational kitchens to its collection of 3-D room models. These include two LEED(R) certified home models called the 723 and 729 Spring Street projects, and the ReVISION House, a Net-Zero Energy show home featured during the 2010 International Builders’ Show(R).
