Graphisoft Announces the Free “BIM Experience Kit” Including ArchiCAD 11 - Innovative and fun way for professionals working in a 2D world to experience BIM in a voice-led, Frank Lloyd Wright designed project

July 31, 2007

Budapest, July 31, 2007 - Graphisoft announced today that Graphisoft ArchiCAD® 11 BIM Experience Kit is immediately available for download on both the Windows® and Macintosh® platforms. “Studies show that 2D users have two conflicting fears: they are afraid they will lose their competitiveness if they don’t adopt BIM, and they are also afraid that the BIM adoption is going to be too hard and they might fail. The BIM Experience Kit enables professionals to learn BIM at their own pace and get a high comfort level before making the production switch”, said Patrick Mays, AIA, Vice President, Graphisoft North America who has a long and successful track record of helping firms transition to a 3D design environment. BIM Experience Kit Overview – the four main areas include product, interactive learning, assessment and rewards: Product – The Experience Kit includes a 30 day limited, fully functional version of ArchiCAD 11. Files may be saved for future sessions. Innovative technology allows users to convert files to be compatible with commercial versions of ArchiCAD upon purchase. Users benefit from the assurance that their files can be taken forward in projects, so the time spent on learning is not lost. Interactive Learning – A two-hour overview of BIM based upon the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Massaro House is included in the download. The tutorial takes users through all major steps in creating a complete BIM project. Steps include designing in a model based environment and generating floor plans, sections, elevations, interior elevations, renderings and quantity take offs. Assessment – Users can track their basic understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) online. Rewards – Completed assessments are automatically registered for a chance to win an ArchiCAD program (one drawing per month) as well as a chance to win a trip to Budapest to meet the Graphisoft team in spring of 2008. Availability The International and U.S. editions are available immediately: http://redirect.aecdaily.com/s18122/experienceBIM.com ... Most localized versions will be shipped in the next few months. Provide a "Green,” Self-Sealing, Vapor Permeable, Air, Liquid and Moisture Barrier

July 04, 2007

Hampshire, IL – AIR-SHIELD LMP is a water-based air/liquid moisture barrier that cures to form a tough, seamless, elastomeric membrane. AIR-SHIELD LMP exhibits excellent resistance to air leakage. As a drainage plane, AIR-SHIELD LMP prohibits liquid water intrusion into the substrate, if properly applied. The product is self-sealing when tested in accordance with ASTM. AIR-SHIELD LMP has been specifically formulated to act as an air and liquid moisture barrier, allowing vapor to pass through it while being impermeable to liquid water. It may be applied to most common surfaces and integrated into various wall systems. AIR-SHIELD LMP is suitable for both new construction and retrofit applications. The formulation of AIR-SHIELD LMP is water-based, so this provides a “green” solution for all building envelope applications needing a vapor permeable air barrier. AIR-SHIELD LMP meets several specifications, including Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), Massachusetts Commerical Energy Code for Building Envelope Systems and National Building Code of Canada. The VOC content of AIR-SHIELD LMP is <100 g/L. AIR-SHIELD LMP is available in five-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums.
