Name: Mark Piquette
Title: Staff Architect, Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co.
Background: Staff Architect for Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co., Inc. in Wausau, Wisconsin. Raised in Menominee, Michigan Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture '76 and a Master in Architecture '78 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
With over 26 years of experience in both commercial and residential architecture Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the architecture field to Kolbe. He has done project architecture ( drawing plans, writing specifications and construction observation) for various firms in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Colorado Springs, Colorado and in Wisconsin. His latest firm was Hoffman Corporation in Appleton, Wisconsin where his final project was as the Project Architect for the 17 million dollar Dodgeland K-12 School in Juneau, Wisconsin. Mark's involvement in the industry includes Past President of the Fox River Valley CSI Chapter and he is currently involved with the Wausau Chapter and Northeast Wisconsin American Institute of Architects.
Mark also has experience with Wickes Lumber/United Building Centers/Timberroots Manufacturing and has worked with Engineered Wood Products designing engineered wood floor systems and roof trusses. His current responsibilities include providing direction for an Architect software system that Kolbe will launch in 2006. This software ties into AutoCad and will allow architects the ability to visually select windows and doors and place them into plans and elevations along with generating a window and door schedule for Kolbe products. He also oversees Kolbe's AIA/CES program providing architects with ongoing education on windows and doors. Mark is also involved with industry related issues and helping Kolbe grow in the Commercial market.
