Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Discuss the features of aluminum railings and the assembly considerations required to facilitate a successful installation.
- State the applications and design options of aluminum railing and gates.
- List the features, applications and assembly of aluminum cable railing, pipe railing, and pipe picket railing.
- Discuss the IBC 2006 codes related to handrails and guards.

Name: Ryan Nichols
Title: Sales Engineer, Superior Aluminum Products, Inc.
Background: Ryan Nichols is a Sales Engineer for Superior Aluminum Products, and has been with the company for 13 years. Ryan started working summers for Superior Aluminum at the age of 10, and worked there until he went away to college. After graduating from the University of Dayton, he found a job in his field of study. After 2 years of experience outside of the family business, Ryan came back to Superior Aluminum as a Sales Engineer. The bulk of Ryan’s time is spent on inside and outside sales, but with AEC Daily coming about, he hope to spend a lot of time there. Ryan plans to work with Architects in the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky areas to do lunch and learns on aluminum railings.
