Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Identify the advantages and differences in design and construction of stick-built and unitized curtain walls.
- Describe two different methods of glazing a curtain wall.
- Determine how moisture can be managed within curtain wall systems to prevent unmitigated water infiltration into the system thereby protecting the interior space.
- Discuss how thermal and structural movement affects a curtain wall and how to accommodate for these effects in your design.
- Identify different curtain wall anchorage types and locations.
- Discuss the differences between standard, modified standard, and custom curtain wall design.
