Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Identify the three performance components of a building envelope and summarize their function within the envelope.
  • Describe how each of the control layers functions to minimize trapped or infiltrating moisture.
  • Explain how each of the materials in the three sample walls functions to reduce moisture within the envelope.
  • List the characteristics of glass-mat faced gypsum board that contribute to moisture reduction in different locations in a building envelope.
