Name: Jim Nash
Title: President, Enviroshake, Inc.
Background: Jim is a graduate of McMaster University and resides in Chatham with his family. He is an active Rotarian, sports enthusiast and is a strong supporter of role the Chatham-Kent community and South-Western Ontario region can play in building the bio economy.
Enviroshake Inc. was incorporated in 1998 to commercialize the Enviroshake® Process and the Enviroshake® composite roofing product. Jim was involved in the start-up of the venture and has seen the company grow from the “what if” stages to a 24/7 operation that now markets their product throughout Canada and the United States. Very early in its development, the company predicted that there would be a growing trend and opportunity to replace traditional roofing products such as cedar shakes and shingles with innovative alternative products such as their Enviroshake® composite product. Many of the market barriers and product development issues have been addressed and the product continues to be well received in the marketplace. Although the financial challenges of building a start-up business and growing it into a successful manufacturing operation can been numerous, the company continues to grow and their Enviroshake® product has established itself as a leader in the specialty roofing products market in North America.
